Maxwell Monaghan, Lead Pastor.
Max is our Lead Pastor and was sent by the elders of Doxa Church in Rocklin, CA, to plant The Shepherd's Church, which launched in the spring of 2023. Max is husband to Alexa and father to Knox. He holds a Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary.
Scott Gillis, Elder.
Scott The Holy Spirit drew Scott to surrender his life to Christ while earning a degree in Religious Studies. Serving in CRU and Navigators ignited a passion for discipleship. He has served local churches leading home groups, church planting, teaching, and as an elder. After an extensive career in senior management for major commercial construction firms, Scott was the Chief Operating Officer for Creation Ministries International (Creation.com) and continues in multiple roles serving for over 15 years. Married for over 40 years, Scott and Lisa have four children and 3 grandchildren.
Michael McCleary, Elder.
Michael was born in Stuttgart, Germany, and raised in a military family. In 2017, God called him out of darkness and into new life after attending only a few services at Doxa Church in Rocklin. Michael was blessed to participate in Doxa's 6:4 Internship during the 2022-2023 class. He and his wife, Nadine, were part of The Shepherd's Church plant team, and in 2024 God called him into shepherding responsibilities as an elder at The Shepherd's Church. Michael works in the commercial real estate industry and is a graduate of Sacramento State University. Michael and Nadine have two adult children and are excited to be part of the body here at The Shepherd's Church.
Eddie Kaiger, Elder.
Eddie joined The Shepherd's Church several months after it launched as a plant from Doxa Church, where he had completed the 6:4 Pastoral Internship. He works as a software engineer and is a graduate of UC Davis. In 2024, he earned his Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Eddie serves as an elder at The Shepherd's Church and is involved in multiple ministry areas, including student ministry, praise team, home groups, and preaching. He and his wife, Lyuba, have three young children: Noemi, Cora, and Felix.
ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF
Nadine McCleary, Executive Administrator.
Nadine serves as Executive Admin at The Shepherd's Church, supporting our elders and coordinating the faithful volunteers who make ministry possible each week. With over 23 years of business experience, she brings her gifts of administration to help equip the saints for the work of ministry. She and her husband Michael (one of our elders) live in Ione and have two adult children.
