Brothers and sisters, we are a Church that is founded upon God’s Word. We hold fast to the truth of 2 Timothy 3:16-17. Because we believe in its divine inspiration, its inerrancy, and its authority and sufficiency for our lives, we want to commit to reading through it as a church together for the year of 2024, beginning January 1.  I have taken the liberty of putting together a 365-day reading plan, through which we can daily wash ourselves afresh with God’s Word. Each daily reading consists of two readings from the Old Testament and one reading from the New Testament or the Psalms. With the exception of
the Psalms, the first two readings will follow the sequential order of the Old Testament. The third reading of the day, on the other hand, has been intentionally organized so as to spread the four Gospels throughout the year (one for each season), which are then separated by the Epistles and the Psalms interspersed throughout.  My goal with this plan was to give you a wellbalanced diet of the different genres within your Bibles each day and seasonally, so that you’re never just taking in a single genre (e.g., narrative, poetry, prophetic, epistles, etc.) for any prolonged period of time. Each reading includes three to five chapters per day, which should be achievable in approximately 30 minutes or so.
It’s my hope that you would be well fed and well served by this reading plan, that it would draw you into deeper levels of fellowship with your Lord and Savior, and that through it He would be teaching us collectively by His Word, as we walk through the same glorious texts, not just on Sundays but throughout the week as well.
